PLL 7x08 Sneak Peek: Paily Reunion

Emily and Paige unexpectedly bump into each other in this sneak peek of Pretty Little Liars episode 7x08 “Exes and OMGs”.

Paige is back in Rosewood and she’s interested in a swim coach position at Rosewood High. Turns out Emily is also interested in the same job. Emily stops by Rosewood High just as Principal Hackett finishes interviewing Paige for the position. Emily and Paige both seem shocked to see each other.

Emily is dating Sabrina right now, but is there still a chance for Paily? Are you glad to see Paige back in Rosewood? PLL showrunner Marlene King has said Paige and Emily may have seen each over the five year time jump. Hope we get some flashbacks of that! One person that won’t be happy to see Paige back is Alison. Marlene King said Paige will bring out Alison’s inner bitch.

PLL Spoilers Season 7: Paige Brings Out Alison’s Inner Bitch

Alison’s come a long way redeeming herself from the mean girl she used to be in high school, but that inner bitch is going to come back out when Paige returns to Rosewood.

PLL showrunner Marlene King was asked about Paige’s return by E Online. "She brings Alison's inner bitch back," Marlene spilled.

Paige and Alison have a complicated history, so it’s not surprising that there will be issues between the two of them.

Paige will return to Rosewood in episode 7x08 “Exes and OMGs”, which will air on August 16. Emily and Paige will both try to get a job as the Rosewood High swim coach.

PLL Spoilers: Lindsey Shaw as Paige Returns in Season 7

Lindsey Shaw will return to her role as Paige McCullers on PLL in season 7. The last time we saw Paige, she was moving to California with her family. PLL showrunner Marlene King has hinted that Paige and Emily may have interacted during the five year time jump, since they were both in California at that time.

Lindsey Shaw will be in a couple of episodes, beginning with episode 7x08 according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Are you happy that Paige will be returning to Rosewood? It doesn’t look hopeful for Paily fans though, since it looks like Lindsey is only in two episodes. What do you think will happen when Paige comes back to town?

Shay Mitchell and Marlene King Talk Emison and Paily

Shay Mitchell (Emily on PLL) and showrunner Marlene King talked about Emily’s love life and what to expect after the time jump.

Shay acknowledged that there are die-hard Emison PLL fans.  Marlene King said there are Emison moments in a lot of the episodes.  They don’t have to be a couple to be Emison.  They will always have a connection because Alison was Emily’s first love.

Marlene has previously said that Lindsey Shaw (Paige) will appear on PLL in season 6.  In this new interview, Marlene said there may be a story that puts Emily and Paige in the same state over the time jump. 

They also touched on Sara Harvey.  Neither Marlene nor Shay think Sara Harvey has made it to girlfriend level for Emily.  Maybe Sara will just be a friend?

Who do you think is best for Emily?  Previously, Shay Mitchell has said that she thinks Paige is good for Emily.  Do you think Emily should be with Paige, Alison, Sara or someone else?

PLL Season 5 Paily Deleted Scene 5x05

Here’s a PLL Paily deleted scene from episode 5x05 “Miss Me x 100”.  In that episode, Emily arranges for Paige and Alison to meet up.  Paige tells Alison that she hated her because of all the bullying.  Alison apologizes for the way she treated Paige in the past.

In this deleted scene, Emily tells Paige that she is playing peacemaker more for Paige’s sake than for Alison’s.

If this deleted scene makes you miss Paige, you can look forward to Paige’s return to Rosewood later on in season 6.

PLL Romance Spoilers for Season 6

It’s time for a PLL romance checkup for season 6.  Things look pretty bleak for the Liars, since they will be traumatized from their time spent trapped in the dollhouse.  What’s in store for them romantically when they finally escape the dollhouse?  Pretty Little Liars executive producer Oliver Goldstick spilled some juicy spoilers to ET Online for Hanna, Aria, Spencer, Emily and Alison’s love lives.

Hanna and Caleb have always had a relatively stable relationship.  They have always had each other’s backs and have been supportive.  However, they may start to have some issues in season 6.  After escaping from the dollhouse, Hanna may start pushing Caleb away.

"Because of her trauma, she might not be able to appreciate how great Caleb is right away in [season] six”, Oliver Goldstick said.  Caleb, however, will continue to be the sweet boyfriend that we love.  "I think he's always been there to support her with every decision she makes, and I think he remains the perfect boyfriend in so many ways."  So it looks like there is still hope for Haleb fans.

Aria and Ezra have had ups and downs for the past few years and at the end of season 5 they were no longer together.  They managed to make it through the bombshell reveal that Ezra was keeping secrets and writing a book about Alison.  However, things started to fall apart when Ezra realized that Aria regretted missing out on the typical high school experience because of her secret relationship with him,.  Ezra thought Aria spending time away from him was the only way to have a healthy relationship in the future, but that pushed her closer to Andrew Campbell.

Andrew seemed pretty sweet and he clearly wanted to be the guy Aria turned to.  He acted a little suspicious the night Aria’s brother got beat up, though.  We also saw him eavesdropping on a phone conversation between Spencer's mom and Melissa.  And we can’t forget that “A”’s lair was at the old Campbell farm.  Which guy is in Aria’s future?

Oliver Goldstick gives some hope to all the Ezria shippers.  Looks like it isn’t going to be easy for Aria to stay away from Ezra.  “Part of her knows that she and Ezra need to go their separate ways, but something happens in the beginning of [season] six A that brings them very close together again.  This will be a challenge and they're both going to have to deal with it. It's a mixed message from the universe."

Don’t expect Ezra and Aria to get together right away, though.  PLL showrunner Marlene King said Aria and Ezra's breakup was necessary.

Spencer and Toby started having issues when Toby became a Rosewood police officer.  Spencer ended up kissing two guys, Johnny and British hottie Colin, when Toby kept pushing her away.  Spencer and Toby didn't break up, though.  They  kissed before "A" kidnapped Spencer.  However, in season 6 Spencer is going to be a bit preoccupied with investigating “A”.  That’s going to put her romantic life on the back burner for a while.

"Spencer will be challenged as well, but the great news is she's got an inside track at the Rosewood PD.  So Spencer -- who has always led a lot of this mystery train -- holds the key because she was obviously the first one to see [Charles'] movie.  I would just say that her romance may get a little addled by the mystery of it all, but that doesn’t mean her romance goes away completely".  So it doesn’t seem like we will see that much of Spoby in season 6.

Emily hasn’t had much luck in the romance department.  Her first girlfriend, Maya, is thought to be dead.  And her on-again/off-again girlfriend Paige moved to California.  Her romance with The Brew’s chef Talia was short-lived and seemed doomed to fail since she was married.  It looks like Emily has already met her soul mate, though.

"She might just realize that she's now got a soul mate closer to her than she ever thought.  And the dollhouse will have been a big factor in a shift of what Emily wants in a partner. Who and what she wants", Oliver said.

What does this mean for Paily and Emison fans?  We know Paige will be making an appearance in season 6.  Do you think Emily realizes Paige is her soul mate?  And is Maya really dead?  There have been hints that “A” may have tried to kill Maya.

Alison’s stint in jail meant that she didn’t have much of a romance life.  She was a bit busy fighting for her life.  Now that she’s out of jail, however, she may start up a new, unexpected romance.

"I think you're going to be excited that there's life after prison for Alison and that she doesn’t have to wear orange.  Once she puts on a different color she may be attracted to somebody in Rosewood who you won't expect -- an unlikely person. And an unlikely person might find her very attractive."

An ‘unlikely person’ is a pretty vague clue.  Anyone hoping for Alison and Noel hookup?  We still don’t know why Noel was helping Ali while she was on the run, but it seems like there is more to that story.

Or do you think the unlikely person could be Lucas?  Lucas has always hated Alison for bullying him.  He is one of the last people you would expect to hook up with Alison, which would make him an unlikely person.

Of course, it could also be a character we haven’t met before.  From behind-the-scenes photos that Sasha Pieterese posted, we know that Alison will meet Lorenzo Calderon, a new Rosewood police officer played by Travis Winfrey.  Maybe we'll see some sparks fly between Alison and Lorenzo?

No spoilers for Mona’s love life, but Mona and Mike are such a good couple.  Mona genuinely seemed to care about Mike and Mike was clearly in love with Mona.  Hope they continue dating when Mike finds out that Mona isn’t dead after all.

Paige McCullers will return to Rosewood in season 6 of Pretty Little Liars, though not right away. 

PLL showrunner Marlene King told Zap2it that we will definitely see Paige return eventually.  “Not right off the bat in Season 6, but I will say that you will see Paige.  I don't want to give away the story -- she's not in the first couple episodes, I'll say” Marlene said.

Shay Mitchell (Emily on PLL) has said that the Paily relationship is the one she's most attached to.  She's also said that she loves Lindsey Shaw (Paige on PLL) and was sad about the Paily breakup.

Who Does Shay Mitchell Want Emily to End Up With?

Just in time for Valentine's Day, Shay Mitchell took a trip down memory lane and talked about all of Emily’s relationships.

Shay shared what first comes to mind when she thinks of Emily’s previous girlfriends:

Maya – First.
Samara – Cute.  Blonde and bubbly.  Shay loved working with Claire Holt (Samara on PLL).
Alison – Seductive.  She knows how to play it off just the right amount.
Paige – Amazing.  She’s been with Emily through thick and thin. 
Talia – Interesting.  Shay’s waiting to see where the relationship heads.

Is Shay on Team Paily?  When asked who Shay Mitchell personally think Emily fits best with, her answer was Paige.

Shay loves working with Lindsey Shaw (Paige on PLL).  “She’s so great and we probably had the longest relationship, so that's probably one that I'm most attached to”.  Shay also said that she thinks Paige is really great with Emily.

Who do you want Emily to end up with?

Talia Keeping Secrets on PLL

The Liars are all about secrets, but Emily’s new crush Talia has a few secrets of her own.

Miranda Rae Mayo, who plays Talia on PLL, told TVLine that “just like everyone in Rosewood, Talia definitely has some secrets, and those secrets may affect Emily”.

As a PLL fan, Miranda is rooting for Paily.  “Before Talia came along, I was a Paily fan; I really like Paige and Emily together.” 

Miranda isn’t sure Talia is going to replace Paige.  “I think it was sad to see Paige go, but we don’t really know how long she’s going to be gone for. It’s not necessarily 100 percent over. Everything in possible in Rosewood.”

Is Emily heading towards another heartbreak?  Seems like it won’t be happily ever after for Talia and Emily. 

Paily Sneak Peek PLL 5x14

“Through a Looking Glass, Darkly” PLL episode 5x14 takes place three months after Christmas and Paige’s parents are still insisting that she move to California.  Emily still isn’t used to the idea of Paige leaving.  Concerned that Rosewood isn’t safe, Paige’s parents haven’t been swayed by Emily and Paige’s arguments to let her stay.  Even bringing up California’s earthquakes didn’t change their minds.

Paige is already packed for the move and will miss graduation at Rosewood High.  Emily is disappointed that they won’t be able to go to prom together.

Paige quotes an old song to Emily.  “Your eyes.  It’s day’s work just to look into them”.

Paily PLL Christmas Spoilers

Ready for some Paily (Emily and Paige) Christmas spoilers?  We’ve seen photos of Paige and Emily together at the Ice Ball, but what else will happen with their relationship?

Pretty Little Liars showrunner Marlene King isn’t spilling much, but she did tell TVLine that “their relationship takes a few turns during the Christmas episode.  There’s a lot that happens with them. It’ll be interesting to see how fans respond to their journey.”

Also, Marlene said that Spencer, Hanna, Alison and Toby will be the ones who are most challenged in the Christmas episode “How the ‘A’ Stole Christmas” 5x13.

When rumors swirled about Paige McCullers dying, Pretty Little Liars showrunner Marlene King was quick to respond.

When asked on Twitter if the rumors are true, Marlene responded by tweeting “NO. Paige will not die.”.

Lindsey Shaw Talks Paily PLL Season 5

Paige, played by actress Lindsey Shaw, has been on a long journey throughout the seasons of “Pretty Little Liars”.  Lindsey talked to Starry Constellation Magazine about Paige’s journey and relationship with Emily.

Lindsey’s reaction to Paige and Emily’s breakup:

Lindsey wants Paily to work, so it was heartbreaking.  At the same time, this gives both Paige and Emily the chance to discover different sides to themselves.  And Paige has a lot to sort through with Ali’s return to Rosewood.  Paige “is trying to really take the high road where this big gash, this wound in her life is.  She wants her girlfriend to come along with her, but she is choosing herself.  Paige is choosing herself and I think that is incredibly strong and beautiful”.

Will Alison and Paige’s dynamic change?

Lindsey doesn’t think so, since Ali’s apology is too little, too late.  She doesn’t believe Ali has really changed.  “I think she is going to continue endangering not only Paige, but the woman Paige loves (Emily). She is just done with the games, but knows the games aren’t going to end. She did it as much for Emily as she did it for herself”.  So Lindsey thinks Ali and Paige will continue to have mutual dislike.

Paige and Mona’s Connection:

“I think that Mona and Paige connect at the deepest level, which is their hurt, vulnerability and their sadness. I think when two people connect like that, no matter over what sort of comes from it, it is just a very strong bond. I think beneath it all is they are hurt and they are finding refuge in one another. They are just trying to protect themselves”.  Although they connect on that level, Paige is trying to do what is right and not play Mona’s game.

Filming the Paige and Ali confrontation:

Lindsey says filming that scene was intense and fun.  “I think what really came through is the strength it takes to look someone in the eye and say, ‘I was devastated by what you did to me’”.

How will Paige react to Emily’s semi-romance with Alison?

Lindsey isn’t sure if Paige will play it cool or fight for Emily.  Regardless, it probably won’t change Paige’s feelings for Emily.  “I don’t think there is anything Emily could ever do that would make Paige not on her team or not wanting to give her the benefit of the doubt. There isn’t much that Paige won’t overlook for her. I don’t know. It could be a stormy revelation, but at the same time she is in it for the long haul”.

Will Emily find out about the cruel fake love letter Alison wrote to Paige?

Lindsey doesn’t think so, since Paige is trying really hard to let the past go and move on.

Best part about playing Paige?

“The thing that I just admire the most about Paige is that she is not afraid anymore. She has not only gotten into her fear, but worn it like a cape. She let her vulnerability hang out there and let out these emotions that you don’t want other people to see”.  Paige is coming into her own and has been making courageous choices.

Regardless of whether you are a Paily fan or an Emison fan, Lindsey Shaw is a phenomenal actress who really understands her character Paige McCullers.  She was amazing in "Miss Me x 100" when she confronted Ali about the bullying.  Can’t wait to see what is in store for Paige on “Pretty Little Liars” as the season goes on.
