PLL Season 6B: Keegan Allen Says Fans Will 'Flip Out'

Keegan Allen, Toby on PLL, thinks die-hard PLL fans will flip out when they see what Pretty Little Liars is like after the five year time jump.  He warns that PLL fans may shed some tears.

Keegan says the time jump has rejuvenated PLL.  "It definitely feels like a new show now.  It's a lot more adult," he said.

Keegan’s character Toby Cavanaugh has changed a lot during those five years.  "For the people that are die-hard fans of the show, they’re going to flip out.  There’s a slew of changes and it's kind of the way you'd want to see the show come together.  We're kind of nearing the end of our show and coming full circle,” he said.

Keegan thinks that PLL fans may shed some tears, but he’s not sure it will be tears of joy.  “Tears of insane frustration,” he warned.

Unfortunately, Keegan couldn’t give any Spoby spoilers.  All he could say is that there will be a lot of reveals coming up.  “Ultimately, the huge reveals are what this show is based on.  And without giving away too much, there are so many reveals not just with Spencer and Toby, and not just with Hanna and Caleb, and all these characters, Ezra and Aria, but more so about this story coming together after 5 years and seeing where everybody is at and what really happened,” Keegan said.

PLL Season 6B: Liars Drink Beer Instead of Coffee

Shay Mitchell (Emily) loves PLL season 6B because of the five year time jump.  The Liars have spent a lot of time grabbing coffee at The Brew during their high school years, but the Liars will now be able to grab a different drink now that they’re legal.  "Instead of drinking coffee, we're having beer.  It makes it a lot more fun to now play closer to our age and also closer to our fans' age that have grown up with us," Shay told People.

Shay was also asked about Emily’s relationship with Sara Harvey, who turned out to be Red Coat.  Emily has a history of dating and trusting people that she probably shouldn’t have (like stalker Nate).  Shay shed some light on Emily’s relationship with Sara.  "I know, you take them to prom, you date them.  I think Emily always hopes for the best for everybody, gives everybody the benefit of the doubt until they mess up. And then when they mess up, that's it," she said.

Shay Mitchell's Fashion Advice

Shay Mitchell knows all about fashion and she’s happy to share her style tips.  “I always liked playing dress up,” Shay told Allure.
Shay was given one piece of clothing, a Kate Spade floral top, with instructions to use clothing from her own closet to style the top in four different ways.

“You can have that one piece and just by changing it with a jean to a black skirt or the accessories it can make a huge difference,” Shay said.

Shay also suggested using hairstyles to change up the look.  “It’s easy and simple to change up your look with your hair.  Just even by simply moving your regular middle part to a side part and giving it a loose wave or putting it up in a bun can completely change the look”.

Reason Behind Julian Morris’s (Wren) Break from PLL

Did you ever wonder why Julian Morris, Wren on PLL, suddenly disappeared from PLL?  Turns out Julian was looking for roles that would provide more of a challenge for him as an actor.  He’s willing to make a return to Pretty Little Liars, though.

Dr. Wren Kingston, the sexy British doctor on PLL, hasn’t been in that many PLL episodes lately.  He played a large role in season 1-3 of Pretty Little Liars, where he flirted with Spencer while he was engaged to her older sister Melissa.  He also shared a kiss with Hanna after he helped keep Mona from being transferred from Radley.  The last time we saw Wren he was acting creepy at Radley.  He colored in a red coat on a drawing.  Then he suddenly went back to England and ended up sharing a flat with Melissa, although we never actually saw Wren and Melissa when Spencer went to London.

Julian Morris explained to MTV why he decided to walk away from PLL.  “I had been [on] ’PLL’ and ’Once Upon a Time’ and some other stuff, and I was really enjoying it,” he said. “I was loving everyone that I was working with. But I realized that I was settling into what I knew I could do, and I started to think about why I got into acting in the first place. It was because of the directors, people like Marc Forster [’Monster’s Ball’], and the challenge that it presented. So I made a break with ‘PLL’ and ’Once Upon a Time.’ And I felt like I needed to do that to give myself the opportunity to give myself these other challenges.”

Troian Bellisario and Diego Boneta (Spencer and Alex on PLL) Reunion

Troian Bellisario (Spencer on PLL) recently had a reunion with PLL guest star Diego Boneta.  Diego Boneta appeared in five Pretty Little Liars episodes as Spencer’s love interest Alex Santiago back in season one.

Troian and Diego ran into each other at Entertainment Weekly’s pre-Emmys party.  Diego posted this photo of his reunion with Troian Bellisario and captioned it “Loved seeing this smart, beautiful and talented woman @sleepinthegardn

Shay Mitchell Talks Emison in PLL 6B

Shay Mitchell, Emily on PLL, was asked in a red carpet interview at The Streamy Awards what Emison fans can expect in PLL season 6B.  “I think that they’re gonna have fun this next season, seeing what me and Sasha are getting up to and our characters.  I think they’re gonna be happy with it,” she said.

Any romance?  “We’ll see,” Shay said.

We know that Alison will be married to Dr. Rollins, played by Huw Collins, after the five year time jump.  We also know that Paige will be returning to PLL at some point.  PLL showrunner Marlene King has said Emily and Paige will have a storyline that will put them in the same state.

Shay Mitchell Finishes Filming ‘Mother’s Day’

Shay Mitchell has finished filming her role in the upcoming romantic comedy Mother’s Day.

Shay shared this photo of herself with co-star Jennifer Aniston on the last day of filming.  She captioned it “And that's a wrap on #MothersDayMovie !!! Ashley Benson and Tyler Blackburn Fly a Broomstick like Harry Potter

Check out this awesome video of Ashley Benson (Hanna on PLL) and Tyler Blackburn (Caleb on PLL) acting like they are in a Harry Potter movie.  In front of a green screen, Ashley and Caleb acted like they were flying on a broomstick back to Hogwarts.  They were even wearing Hogwarts robes.

Ashley joked “So excited to announce that we are doing the next Harry Potter @tylerjblackburn”.

It was a late night of shooting for the PLL cast.  They started filming PLL that day at 7 PM, so they filmed throughout the night and ended around 6 AM.

Huw Collins Joins PLL Cast as Dr. Rollins

Dr. Rollins, Alison DiLaurentis’s new husband in PLL season 6B, will be played by actor Huw Collins.

Shay carries a Givenchy bag on planes. It’s the perfect size and it can stretch out when she buys too much stuff. She also carries a YSL wallet.

Books
The Fifth Agreement by Don Miguel Ruiz and Don Jose Ruiz. It’s one of Shay’s favorite books, so she’s read it several times.

Bliss by Shay Mitchell and her bestie Michaela Blaney. Its about three BFFs who can survive anything together.

iPad
Shay uses her iPad to read magazines on the plane. That way she doesn’t have to carry hundreds of magazines with her.

Face Masks
Shay uses Skin Laundry facial masks on the plane. She highly recommends traveling with face masks. She’s fine with people next to her thinking she looks crazy with the masks on. The facial masks make her feel refreshed and ready to go when she gets off the plane.

Snacks
Shay always carries a couple Kind bars in case she gets delayed.

Wet Wipes
Shay uses Wet Ones wipes to clean her entire seat on the plane. She even wipes the fan.

Torrey DeVitto Joining Cast of ‘Chicago Med' ('Chicago Fire' Spinoff)

Torrey DeVitto, who plays Spencer’s older sister Melissa Hastings on PLL, is joining the cast of Chicago Med as a series regular.

Chicago Med is a spinoff of NBC’s Chicago Fire.  Torrey DeVitto will play the role of Dr. Lilly Manning.  Dr. Lilly Manning is a pregnant emergency room doctor, according to Deadline.

Torrey has some experience playing a doctor on television.  She had a recurring role as Dr. Meredith Fell in season 3 and season 4 of The CW’s Vampire Diaries.

Chicago Med will premiere Tuesday, November 17 on NBC.

Twin Theory Still Might Happen on PLL

What happened to that theory that there would be twins on PLL?  Last year, Tammin Sursok (Jenna Marshall on PLL) confirmed in an interview that someone would have a twin sister on PLL.

We may have found out who “A” is, but that doesn’t mean the twin theory didn’t pan out.  It still might come into play when PLL returns.

When asked about the twin theory by a fan on Twitter, PLL showrunner Marlene King tweeted “The story isn’t over.”

Shay Mitchell Cast in ‘Mother’s Day’ Movie

Shay Mitchell, Emily on PLL, has landed a role in the romantic comedy Mother’s Day.  Mother’s Day is an ensemble film about the lives of different moms on Mother’s Day.  Other stars cast in Mother’s Day include Julia Roberts, Jennifer Aniston, Kate Hudson, Jason Sudeikis and Timothy Olyphant. 

Shay Mitchell will play Tina, the new wife of Henry (Timothy Olyphant’s character).  Henry is the ex-husband of Sandy (Jennifer Aniston’s character).  Tina wants to be the perfect stepmom, according to Variety.

Shay has already started filming the movie, which is being shot in Atlanta, Georgia.

Mother’s Day will be in theaters on April 29, 2016.  It’ll be great to see Shay Mitchell in a role completely different from her role as Emily on Pretty Little Liars.

Shay Mitchell’s PLL Dressing Room Tour

Shay Mitchell’s assistant, Sammy, gave a video tour of Shay Mitchell’s dressing room from the set of PLL. 

Watch the tour to see where Shay naps and watches Netflix when she isn’t filming.  She’s got a lot of random stuff in her dressing room:

Peacock feathers: Shay decorated her dressing room with gorgeous peacock feathers.

Dammit Doll: Shay has a pink Dammit doll that she whacks to relieve stress.

Gray UGG boots: Actors often wear UGG boots on set because it’s cold or to be comfortable since they film scenes in high heels. In Shay’s case, it’s for comfort.

Altoids: Shay keeps a box filled with Altoids and gum.

Sriracha sauce: Shay puts Sriracha sauce on everything. She also has cayenne pepper in her mini fridge.

Toe warmers: Despite it being 96 degrees that day, Shay had a pack of toe warmers in her dressing room.

Although Shay’s assistant Sammy is the one giving the tour, Shay stops by her dressing room at the end of the video.

Lucas, Melissa and Jenna Return in PLL Season 6B

Which PLL characters, besides the Liars, will be returning to the show after the five year time jump?  Expect to see Sara Harvey, Lucas, Spencer’s sister Melissa and Jenna.  We also haven’t seen the last of the PLL parents, according to The Hollywood Reporter.  And of course, Ezra, Caleb and Toby will also be in PLL season 6B.

Can’t wait to see Lucas and Jenna again.  It’s been a while since we’ve seen them.  Wonder if we will see Noel Kahn anytime soon?  We still don’t know why Noel was helping Alison while she was faking her death.  Noel even broke into Hanna’s house and scared Hanna’s mom after Alison asked him to.

And it seems like we will see Wren sometime soon on PLL, although it’s unclear when he will make an appearance.  Julian Morris, who plays Wren on PLL, tweeted that he will be back on Pretty Little Liars.

Maybe we’ll also see Paige in season 6B too?  Marlene King has said that Paige will return eventually.  Marlene also said that Emily and Paige will be in the same state after the time jump.

Sasha Pieterse Says Ali’s a Changed Person in PLL Season 6B

PLL actress Sasha Pieterse says Alison is a changed person in the second half of season 6 on Pretty Little Liars.  No longer a mean girl, Alison starts fresh and becomes a teacher.

“She’s totally reinvented herself,” Sasha told MTV.  “I think she’s looking for a normal life, but it’s not in a location that you would expect.  It’s definitely not what I expected, so to see her this way, and honestly be genuine about it — be a genuine person! — it’s a strange thing. What brings the girls together is also really strange”, Sasha said.

Alison won’t be the mean girl we’ve seen in the past.  She’s learned from everything she’s been through.  And she’s forgiven CeCe/Charlotte for the numerous times that she almost murdered her friends.  According to PLL showrunner Marlene King, Alison wants to take care of Charlotte (CeCe).

Sasha also said that Alison won’t be the vindictive person she used to be.  “I think she’s really enjoying this place that she’s at when we see her — obviously, all hell breaks loose, and that doesn’t really last long. But at the same time, you see that she’s still that new person, and she’s handling things in better ways, not being vindictive about it. She’s not that person anymore.”

Alison won’t be the only one who has changed after the five year time jump.  “Having these girls all go their separate ways and figure life out, they’ve changed.  There’s a lot of stuff that they’ve done in their lives that will affect the way they connect with each other now. But at the same time, they still have that love for each other. I don’t think that’s changed. It’s more about what’s happened to them that’s made them the people they are now — the stuff that you haven’t seen”, she said.

Shay Mitchell Cooks Moroccan Tajine

When Shay Mitchell went to Morocco, she learned how to cook authentic tajine.  Chef Tarik showed her how to make chicken tajine, lamb tajine and vegetable tajine.  Check out the ‘Shay’s Kitchen’ video to watch Shay cooking tajine.
