“Game Over, Charles” was supposed to answer all questions, but after the episode there were still some issues that weren’t addressed in the summer finale. PLL showrunner Marlene King talked to Entertainment Weekly and gave answers to some of those burning questions.
Who killed Garrett and put Aria in the box with his dead body?
“Wilden. Garrett found out that Wilden was a dirty cop and was going to tell. [Wilden] was acting on his own”, Marlene said.
Who killed Melissa’s boyfriend Ian Thomas?
“Ian killed himself but Mona staged the note and the crime scene”.
Whose body was in the barrel? (The barrel the Liars thought contained Mona’s dead body)
“Charlotte stole a cadaver from a medical school”.
Who tried to kill Jenna the night Emily jumped in the lake and rescued her?
“That was Charlotte because Jenna knew Ali was alive.”
Alison pulled Hanna out of the fire at Thornhill Lodge. So who pulled out the other Liars?
“Sara Harvey! And the person who set the fire was Shana.”
What else has Charlotte/CeCe done?
CeCe killed Wilden, almost killed her brother Jason in the elevator, kidnapped Emily and almost sawed her in half, blew up Toby’s house, did creepy dental work on Hanna, put the finger bones in the wedding dresses at the charity fashion show (the bones were from medical school corpses again) and put the snake in Spencer’s dressing room.
Of course, there are still more unresolved questions. Here are a few unanswered questions.
Marlene said Wilden acted alone and killed Garrett. But we heard a guy and a girl’s voice when the box was being pushed off the train. So who was the girl pushing the box? And who put Aria in the box if Wilden was just trying to shut Garrett up? Wilden wouldn’t have a reason to kill Aria, too. And Aria used a screwdriver to stab whoever was pushing her off the train. We later saw Jason with an injury.
Why did Ian kill himself? Since the suicide note was planted by Mona, we don’t know why Ian really killed himself.
Is Wren involved in any of this? He colored a red coat in an illustration at Radley, implying that he knew more than he let on. And when CeCe visited Mona in Radley, she was wearing a red coat. Wren admitted to getting CeCe a visitor’s pass to see Mona. If CeCe was still a patient at Radley, why would she have a visitor’s pass?
If CeCe didn’t really kidnap Sara, how did Sara end up being Red Coat and the Black Widow?
Spencer’s sister Melissa Hastings was non-existent in “Game Over, Charles”, but CeCe and Melissa were arguing the night Alison disappeared. What was going on between the two of them? And what was the significance of the N.A.T. club?
Who killed Jessica DiLaurentis?
Do you have any questions that weren’t answered in the PLL summer finale “Game Over, Charles”?

PLL Season 5 Deleted Scenes: Charles DiLaurentis is Alison’s Brother?
There is a PLL season 5 deleted scene that seems to point to Charles DiLaurentis being Alison’s brother. The deleted scene is a dream sequence though, so we can’t completely rely on the information.
In jail, Alison has a dream about her dead mother that hints Charles in Alison’s brother. Alison and her mom look through a family photo album. Alison’s mom made the mistake of letting her brother stay up and watch an old movie in Niagara Falls. He became obsessed with it. After that, everything had to be vintage. This is strange, since Alison doesn’t remember Jason being into old stuff.
Alison’s mother clearly states that Alison’s brother was into vintage, but that doesn’t match Alison’s memories of Jason. That points towards Alison having another brother. And as we saw in Charles’s soul room, he seems to have a love for all things vintage.
Alison’s mom says Jason was on the family trip, too. They all were. Alison tells her mom that Jason thinks there are no family photos of him because no one cared about him. Alison’s mom claims that Jason was camera-shy and threw out his own photos.
Was Charles in those missing photos? Is that why photos of Jason are mysteriously missing? If that’s the case, wouldn’t Jason know that his parents threw away the photos to hide evidence of Charles even existing?
There are also some season 5 deleted scenes related to Mona’s Army. In one scene, Paige tries to convince Lucas to stop Mona’s Army because Lucas loves Hanna and Paige loves Emily. Lucas thinks that Alison being back in Rosewood is putting Hanna and Emily in danger. Even if he wanted to, he couldn’t stop Mona’s Army. It’s too late.
There is another scene of Mona meeting up with her army after Alison slapped her. Lucas and Jenna ask if Mona did her part.
A Caleb and Toby bromance scene was deleted. Caleb is having trouble dealing after his ordeal in Ravenswood, so Toby lets him stay in his cabin for as long as he wants.
Alison had a scene where she calls Noel Kahn and asks him for his help.
Do you think this PLL season 5 deleted scene of Alison and her mom Jessica DiLaurentis confirms that Charles DiLaurentis is Alison’s brother? Or do you think it is possible that Charles is a more distant relative of the DiLaurentis family?

Sasha Pieterse Fav PLL Theory: Charles and Maya on the ‘A’ Team
Sasha Pieterse (Alison on PLL) has heard a lot of fan theories, but her favorite theory involves Emily’s presumed dead ex-girlfriend Maya.
"My favorite theory is that Charles and Maya are working together. After Maya died, I've constantly heard theories that she faked her death and she's part of The A Team. I think it's pretty brilliant actually. You never saw her dead body, you only saw her body bag. You never know!" Sasha Pieterse told Us Weekly.
Although Sasha likes that theory, she does think that Charles is the only “A”. "I honestly think Charles is the A, but knowing [series creator] Marlene [King], I might be wrong", Sasha said.
Interesting theory, since "A" may have had a run-in with Maya at some point. PLL executive producer Oliver Goldstick has said that "A" may have tried to kill Maya. Do you think Maya is alive and working with Charles?

PLL Spoilers: Alison Has No Idea Who Charles Is
Charles may be a DiLaurentis, but that doesn’t mean Alison DiLaurentis knows who he is.
"I can tell you that Charles is somehow related to the DiLaurentis family," Sasha Pieterse told buddyTV. So Charles is part of the family, but that doesn’t mean Alison knows who is tormenting them. "She has no idea who this person is. It's completely a shock to her."
So how come Alison has no information about this mysterious relative? Alison will realizes that she can’t even trust her own family. "It just goes so much deeper and so much darker and it's really hard for her to trust anyone. She can't even trust her own family completely". Sasha describes the DiLaurentis family as "so twisted."
We will probably see a lot more of the DiLaurentis family in season 6 of PLL. Sasha has posted behind-the-scenes photos of the whole DiLaurentis clan at a table read. Jessica DiLaurentis will be returning to the show. We will also see more of Alison’s older brother Jason. And of course, Alison’s dad will also be there.
Sasha promises that we will learn "how Charles works and how this has all come about and the history of Charles and the reason he is so obsessed." Of course, his obsession is not going to stop until he adds Alison to his doll collection. “His ultimate dollhouse does include Alison," Sasha said.

PLL Spoilers Season 6: Charles Will Punish Liars
The Liars will suffer the consequences of trying to escape the dollhouse when Pretty Little Liars returns for season 6.
Janel Parrish, Mona on PLL, told The Hollywood Reporter what to expect for PLL season 6A. “Basically, the girls will be trying to escape. They will be punished for trying to get away from Charles, and it won't be pretty. I know eventually that they will get out [of the dollhouse] but with some serious emotional scars. The season will be pretty dark. Throughout the season, we'll be finding out more about what happened to these girls while they were in the dollhouse and who exactly is Charles and why is he doing this”.
Mona’s punishment may be different from what Charles does to the Liars, since Charles favors Alison. Janel told Entertainment Weekly that Mona “will be treated differently because she is [Charles’] favorite,” but “[Mona] will ultimately still be punished”.
In “Welcome to the Dollhouse”, Mona described the punishment she already suffered in the dollhouse. (No food and water, blasting the siren and playing a recording of Mona’s mom crying at her funeral). What do you think Charles is going to do to the girls this time?

Mona Didn’t Leave the Charles Anagram for the Liars?
What does Mona's message mean? #PLL pic.twitter.com/bc9uX48jvU
— Pretty Little Liars (@ABCFpll) March 11, 2015
Did someone else leave the Charles anagram for the Liars in Mona’s bedroom? When Spencer told the girls that she figured out the alphabet blocks spelled Charles, Mona didn’t mention leaving them a clue about his name. It seemed like she was hearing the name Charles for the first time.
People asked Marlene King about the anagram found in Mona’s mirror. “Well, we're going to get into that next season because last night, as you watched, it seemed like that was new information to Mona. So she might not have been aware of those anagrams left at her house” Marlene said.
Did “A” leave the anagram for the girls to find? Or did Andrew leave it as a clue for the Liars? Andrew was watching Mona’s house while the Liars were searching it.

Charles DiLaurentis is “A” and Jason’s Brother
Turns out Mona’s anagram was a code for “Charles DiLaurentis”. In “Welcome to the Dollhouse”, Spencer finds alphabet blocks in the house they are trapped in. She realizes the blocks spell out “Charles”.
We also saw an old family video of Alison’s mom holding a baby girl. She tells two boys to kiss their sister. Does Jason have a brother, possibly a twin?
We don’t know of any characters named Charles, but that doesn’t mean we haven’t already met this character. PLL showrunner Marlene King tweeted “Are you sure Charles is not a cast member you have already met?”
And we should have enough hints to figure out who Charles is. Marlene also tweeted “I have given you a ton of hints in seasons 3-5. A is not a stranger.”
