Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin star Bailee Madison shared her post Pretty Little Liars skincare routine that she goes through after a long day on set in an episode of 'Go To Bed With Me. She spent long hours filming the show in upstate New York in all the seasons, so her skin went through a lot. She wore makeup 19 hours a day and went through a lot of blood, sweat and tears on the show. Bailee finally found a nighttime routine that works for her skin. Read on to see what Bailee's favorite skincare products are, what tools she uses and how she uses her nighttime routine to relax after a stressful day.
Bailee starts off by using a hair clip to get her hair up and out of her face. She then uses Neutrogena makeup remover wipes. She loves them and swears by them. She goes in with a wipe all over her skin.
Next up is Lait U Cleanser by Biologique Recherche. It’s a milk cleanser, so it’s nice and gentle on the skin. She adds a bit of water so it’s got a milkier consistency, then massages it over her face.
Then she uses a face massager. It was her first time using it, but she loved it! Although she didn’t share the brand name of the face massager, you can find a similar face massager on Amazon here.
Next up is Lotion P50 1970 by Biologique Recherche, which she says is her saving grace. Bailee knows the products she’s using are on the pricier end. For the first time, she’s decided to invest in her skin and listen to what it needs. These products are the ones that really help and heal her skin. She is cautious not to use too much, so she can save as much product as she can. She’s obsessed with this product. She puts a little bit on a cotton round. Then she goes in up motions to circulate the blood and make sure she’s getting a good wipe down. She’s gentle around the eye area. Bailee explained that the Lotion P50 1970 by Biologique Recherche is supposed to be good for anti-aging and you can’t start too young!
Next Bailee uses the Masque VIP 02 by Biologique Recherche. Bailee loves this mask. The mask is really good with anti-pollution and being outside in the summer and sweating, which is perfect when she’s in the middle of press and she’s been wearing a lot of makeup and on camera a lot. It also seems to firm your skin and give it a bit of a natural lift.
Bailee also loves her face mask brush. You can find similar face mask brushes on Amazon here. Why does she need a face mask brush? Bailee bites her nails. When she has to feel put together, she gets GelX extensions on for press, which means all the mask product ends up underneath her nails. Plus, the brush makes the routine fun. It feels like an art project.
Bailee applies the face mask heavier around the lip area. She goes in an up motion all around. She also contours her eyebrow with it. She goes thicker on the eyebrow area. Bailee lets the face mask sit for about 10-15 minutes. She washes the mask off and makes sure to gently pat her face dry.
Next up in Bailee’s nighttime skincare routine is Prime Renewing Pack by Valmont. She uses it as a base moisturizer. She only uses it at night because it’s a bit too much for daytime use. She assesses her skin on a day-to-day basis. Sometimes her skin needs less product, but sometimes it needs a bit more love. Bailee rubs the Valmont Prime Renewing Pack moisturizer in slightly, but not too much.
Then she goes in with a gua sha face tool. (You can find a similar gua sha face tool on Amazon here). She uses it in an upward motion to rub the moisturizer into her skin. Using the face tool also relieves pressure. Bailee grinds her teeth when she’s sleeping, so she wakes up puffy and with pain in her jaw. Then she uses her fists to massage her lower face in an upward motion. Then she uses a downward motion on her neck to drain for her lymph nodes.
On to serums. First up is Serum Elastine by Biologique Recherche. This serum is for hydration. Bailee flies a lot, so this serum helps put a bit of life back into her skin.
The next serum she uses is Serum Placenta by Biologique Recherche. She uses a couple drops and taps it in on her face and neck.
After serum, she uses L’Eauxygenante by Biologique Recherche to spray her face with oxygen.
Then it’s on to overnight pimple patches. Bailee is obsessed with pimple patches. Bailee uses Overnight Spot Patches from Panoxyl. She uses them when she sees pimples starting to come up.
Bailee also makes sure to take care of her lips. She uses Peptide Lip Treatment by Rhode. She’s been loving it. Not only is it filled with peptides, but it’s also salted caramel flavor. So it’s like an extra dessert of the night.
Bailee's last step in her nighttime routine is to wear her retainer. "This is adulting, guys" Bailee shared. She knows she's going to grind her teeth at night, so the retainer will help.
Bailee shared that she found a lot of products at Rescue Spa in New York City. She has learned to appreciate a nighttime routine. She often gets busy with her day to day life and the stresses of the day hit you at night and it’s appealing to climb into bed and go to sleep. Bailee used to rush her nighttime process. Now she uses it as a moment to take a deep breath and reflect on the day. A time to cleanse, clean and set herself up for a good day the next day.
Bailee also shared a tip her mom always told her. “Bailee, be gentle. Your eyelashes are forever. You have to be gentle on your eyelashes,” she taught her. So Bailee always goes in a gentle upward motion to remove her mascara with the Neutrogena makeup remover wipes.
Bailee also made an adorable confession. She said it might be because Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin is horror and slasher themed, but she has an irrational fear when she’s wiping her makeup off and can’t open her eyes that someone’s going to be behind her. That’s the only stressful part of her skin care process.
Loved hearing Bailee’s nighttime skin care routine and learning about all the products and techniques she uses! Do you use any of the same products Bailee uses? Leave your thoughts in the comment section below!
