Ashley Benson Taking Break from Social Media

The Pretty Little Liars actresses frequently used social media while PLL was on air. They posted behind-the-scenes photos on Instagram, used Twitter to communicate with fans and used Snapchat to show life on the PLL set. Now that PLL has ended, actress Ashley Benson (Hanna Marin) is stepping away from social media. Social media took up too much time and made her feel like she was living a fake life, so she's taking a social media detox.

Being on the popular show Pretty Little Liars came with the obligation to frequently use social media to promote the show. Actress Ashley Benson often posted on Instagram and used Snapchat to interact with PLL fans. Now that she's no longer filming Pretty Little Liars, she's not spending as much time on social media anymore.

“To be honest, I don’t use social media a lot anymore. I Instagram sometimes, but I don’t really go on it. When I was on the show, we really had to be heavily into Instagram and Snapchat and whatever. I felt like it was taking up a lot of my time. I feel like when you’re always on social media, you’re living in this fake life. I’d rather just not look and enjoy my time,” Ashley Benson told Stylecaster.

Ian Harding, Ezra Fitz on Pretty Little Liars, has also been avoiding social media as much as possible. He didn't even know his PLL co-star Sasha Pieterse was competing on Dancing with the Stars.

It seems like most of the Pretty Little Liars actresses have been posting less frequently on social media ever since the show ended. However, they're still sharing a few awesome posts on Instagram. Lucy Hale recently shared a video of her Life Sentence co-star scaring her on set. And Troian Bellisario shared an Instagram photo showing off her cool peach bob hairstyle.
