The theme of the week was 'Memorable Year'. For Sasha Pieterse, 2016 was her most memorable year. That was the year she filmed the last season of Pretty Little Liars. She worked on the show for seven years, so it definitely felt like home. Sasha Pieterse was 12 years old when she filmed the Pretty Little Liars pilot. She grew up with everyone and in 2016 it all came to an end.
When Sasha Pieterse had health struggles, she gained weight. Sasha Pieterse cried as she recalled how she lost out on jobs because of the weight gain. "It took such a knock at my confidence, because it kind of threatened my future and that was really hard", she explained. (PLL actress Ashley Benson has also lost out on a role after being called "too fat".)
Luckily, Sasha Pieterse had love and support from her fiancé Hudson Sheaffer. "On the bright side, Hudson was there and he made sure that no matter what I felt loved," Sasha said.
Hudson Sheaffer is happy to get married to the girl of his dreams. "She is just beautiful, wonderful, a strong person. Sasha is the girl of my dreams. The day I proposed to Sasha, it was the happiest day of my life," Hudson told Dancing with the Stars. (See photos of the proposal).
For Sasha Pieterse, the proposal was an end to one chapter of her life and the start of the next chapter. "Getting engaged was definitely a shift in my focus. It completed my journey in 2016. It's really the end of that chapter and starting the new. And I'm excited to be a wife!"
So DWTS pro Gleb Savchenko used a door in the Foxtrot dance that represented Sasha Pieterse entering a new chapter in her life.
Sasha explained that the Foxtrot dance represents a turning point. It's about struggle. It's about overcoming that struggle. It's about happiness and finding the good in things. And in the end, its about light at the end of the tunnel.
Gleb asked Sasha if she was scared about their emotional dance. "A little, but I'll be good," Sasha told Gleb.
Sasha Pieterse was relieved when the dance was over. It was an emotional night for all the Dancing with the Stars contestants, which made them all nervous.
"It was really nerve-racking to kind of put ourselves out here and be vulnerable like that in a totally different way, so I'm so excited that it is over only because it takes a lot out of you. And I'm just really thankful to be here," Sasha told DWTS host Tom Bergeron.
Watch Sasha Pieterse and her dancing pro partner Gleb Savchenko dance the Foxtrot to “Over My Head Cable Car)” by The Fray for DWTS Week 4 in the video below. Sasha Pieterse looked gorgeous in that sparkly dress.
Sasha Pieterse's score: 24/30
That score put Sasha Pieterse in a better place than last week. (Last week, Sasha and Gleb's Jazz routine put them at the bottom of the leader board). In first place this week was Jordan Fisher and Lindsay Arnold. Jordan Fisher's most memorable year was the year he was officially adopted by his grandparents. His emotional Contemporary dance to “Take Me Home” by Us The Duo got him a score of 29/30. In week 4 of DWTS, Derek Fisher and Sharna Burgess were eliminated.
Afterwards, Sasha Pieterse wrote on Instagram " Thank you all for helping me close a chapter and joining me on opening a new and bright one. I am having the absolute best time and I’m so thankful for all of you ❤️ please please don’t forget to vote! #teamateam all the way 😉 We love you guys and we can’t wait for #disneynight

Gleb Savchenko wrote " Tonight was very special, thank you for letting me be a part of your most memorable year and tell your story with this beautiful dance. You totally killed it tonight, your performance was on another level. I'm so so proud of you! @sashapieterse27 #teamAteam ".
Dancing with the Stars Judges critiques of Sasha Pieterse's Foxtrot Routine:
Bruno Tonioli (choreographer):
Bruno Tonioli thinks Sasha Pieterse is well-suited to ballroom dancing.
"Out of the door and back on track with a proper Foxtrot. You have a natural grace that really suits the ballroom dance, so have confidence in yourself! And keep that kind of glowing energy in anything you do 'cause you got it! Okay, that's all!"
Carrie Ann Inaba (choreographer and dance producer):
"This is the way I like to see you out here on the ballroom. Moving, using the floor, dancing through the space. I love the transition from the breakthrough from going before. I was like 'Is she okay? What's happening? And then, oh breakthrough! I get it!' I love the storytelling. Well done."
Len Goodman (professional dancer and dance teacher):
"Well, I liked the quantity of the Foxtrot and I liked the quality of dancing. It was lovely. Well done. "
