Lucy Hale shared this photo of herself with her mom (Julie Knight). and captioned it “We moved to LA together when I was 15 and I am everything I am today because of her. She is the most selfless woman I know and is so cute it hurts. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOMMA! I love you to the moon and back.”
Lucy Hale's mom made sacrifices to help her daughter follow her dreams. When Lucy Hale was fifteen, her mom "cashed in her retirement fund, packed up her daughter and moved to California so Hale could follow her dreams of being a singer and an actress", according to Tennessean. Lucy's mom "worked at night and slept in her car during the day while she waited in the parking lot for Hale to finish auditions."
"We never really had a back-up plan. She's never gone to college. The whole time it was never spoken what we would do if it didn't work. We always knew that somehow we were doing the right thing," her mom explained.
Her mother's belief in her paid off. After numerous roles guest starring on television shows, Lucy landed a starring role in the CW show Privileged. She played the lead in the movie Sorority Wars. (Lucy Hale also got to showcase her singing talent in Sorority Wars). Lucy then went on to star as Aria Montgomery on Pretty Little Liars. And while filming PLL, Lucy released her debut country album Road Between.
Lucy Hale's close bond and love for her mother can also be seen in the sweet message Lucy Hale posted on Mother’s Day.
