Troian Bellisario & Shay Mitchell on the Possibility of 8th Season of PLL

At the Freeform upfront in New York (see photos of PLL cast on the red carpet), actresses Shay Mitchell and Troain Bellisario were asked if they would return for an eighth season of PLL. They both had totally different answers to that question.

When asked if she would return for an eighth season of PLL, Shay Mitchell (Emily) said “Absolutely. Yes, of course”.

Troian Bellisario (Spencer) had a completely different answer. Troian emphasized that season 7 is the beginning of the end. She’s surprised to hear people say that season 7 is probably the last season, since she was told it would be the end. She’s already happy with the resolution of season 7. “I’ve always felt that continuing something just for the sake of continuing it, when you’ve already reached the climax, is not healthy for the story, it’s not healthy for the characters, and it’s ... not going to result in the best circumstances,” Troian said.

Lucy Hale has already said that she’s ready to move on from her role as Aria Montgomery on PLL.
