On Thursday, January 18, 2018 Lucy Hale took to Instagram to with a message about sexual assault. Though the message didn't have many details, she hinted that she experienced sexual assault that night.
She quickly deleted the Instagram message, but then took to Twitter to share her story. She shared a screenshot of an iPhone note where Lucy expressed the pain she was feeling.
“I deleted it from Instagram. But this needs to be heard," Lucy wrote. “I never understood sexual assault until tonight. I always sympathized, but never truly felt the pain of it until right now. My dignity and pride was broken. I am completely at a loss for words. I feel for anyone that has felt this pain that I feel right now. But I promise. I will not let a moment go by that I don’t try to make a difference.”

Lucy then deleted the message from her Twitter account, as well.
Before Lucy deleted her posts, fans were quick to send their support to the actress.
Lucy Hale is not alone in speaking up against sexual abuse. Many Hollywood actresses have been speaking up and sharing their stories about sexual harassment and assault. They have been vocal in the #MeToo campaign on social media.
This message about sexual assault comes about a week after Lucy Hale's San Fernando Valley home was robbed.
So far, Lucy Hale hasn't shared any more information about the deleted sexual assault message. Will post updates as soon as Lucy Hale says more.
Update: Lucy Hale vaguely referred to the deleted sexual assault message, saying "we’ve all had our experiences like that" and that she " never wants to be someone who makes it all shiny and rainbows all the time".
