Will Shay Mitchell Guest Star on "Pretty Little Liars" Spinoff as Emily Fields?

Sasha Pieterse has teased that Emison is still going strong in the spinoff Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists. However, Shay Mitchell will not be a regular on the show. Sasha Pieterse and Janel Parrish are the only two Pretty Little Liars cast members to join The Perfectionists cast. So will Emily Fields pop up in Beacon Hills to visit her wife Alison? Shay Mitchell has spoken to showrunner Marlene King about appearing on the PLL spinoff. However, Shay Mitchell has a full schedule. She's a series regular on the upcoming show You. And Shay Mitchell is also going to star in Marlene King's The Heiresses, which is based on The Heiresses book written by PLL author Sara Shepard. So will Shay Mitchell even have time to make an appearance on Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists?

“It’s just difficult with all of our schedules right now. At the end of the day, regardless of whether I’m on it or not, I will 100-percent support the show and be a fan of it myself. But we’re all just doing so many different things right now, so it’s hard to commit to something like that,” Shay Mitchell told TV Line.

Even though Shay Mitchell can't commit to appearing on the PLL spinoff, she can't contain her excitement about the show. “I was super excited for everybody when I first heard about it — I think it’s amazing. It’s going to be so much fun for Sasha and Janel. And why not? The fans love it. For me, it was like hearing that Sex and the City was getting a movie. I was such a huge fan of that show, and that just extended my enjoyment of it. So I think it’s great. Some of the fans may have grown up and moved on, but other fans want more. They want to find out what happens to certain characters. This show will really get into the aftermath of what happened in Rosewood,” Shay explained.

So Shay Mitchell is busy filming other projects, but it looks like they are leaving the door open for Shay to make a cameo on the spinoff. I wouldn't be surprised to see a little bit of Emison on Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists.
