How Alison DiLaurentis and Mona Vanderwaal will be written into PLL spinoff
Freeform has announced that Sasha Pieterse and Janel Parrish would join the PLL spinoff Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists as Alison DiLaurentis and Mona Vanderwaal. They haven't released many details released about the spinoff, though Sasha Pieterse spilled that Emison is still going strong. Luckily, Sara Shepard (author of The Perfectionists book series) shed some light on how Alison and Mona will fit into the world of Beacon Hills rather than Rosewood.

"I have read the pilot, and I love how Ali is written into the story. Not to give away too much, but she plays a big part at the school, though she isn’t one of the characters from the book," Sara Shepard teased.
So maybe Alison gets transferred to a different high school? Or she gets a promotion that lands her in Beacon Hills?
What about Mona? Last time we saw Mona, she had kidnapped Mary Drake and Spencer's evil twin sister Alex Drake. Mona was hold the two of them hostage in her dollhouse in Paris. Seems like that will play a major role in the spinoff, but even Sara Shepard isn't sure how it will exactly tie together.
"Mona is a little bit more nebulous. She comes in at the end, but I have a feeling she’s going to be a major linchpin to the series. That stuff we saw with Mona at the end of PLL, when she was in Paris? I think that connects to this story somehow. But I’m not sure quite how yet!" Sara Shepard told EpicReads.
Can't wait to watch Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists to see how the Pretty Little Liars characters are integrated into The Perfectionists world!
