Hanna’s mom, Ashley Marin, is worried about Hanna. Clearly the police think Hanna and her friends are involved in Archer Dunhill’s disappearance.
Hanna admits that she needs help, but she isn’t going to let her mom help. “Mom, you have spent your whole life helping me. Doing things you shouldn’t have had to do,” Hanna tells her mom.
Ashley says it’s all because she loves Hanna. “And now it’s time for me to show you how much I love you by not letting you get involved,” Hanna says.
