Emison Q&A with Sasha Pieterse & Shay Mitchell

Pretty Little Liars actresses Shay Mitchell (Emily) and Sasha Pieterse (Alison) did an Emison Q&A video. They talked about their experiences filming PLL, their opinions on Paige McCullers and their favorite Emison quotes, among other things. Sasha and Shay weren’t about to spill any Emison season 7B spoilers, though.

The girls were asked if they would rather have a double date with Spoby or a double date with Haleb. They chose Haleb.

Sasha Pieterse was 12 years old when she filmed the PLL pilot episode and she was 13 years old when she filmed season one. She was much younger than the rest of the PLL actresses. Sasha was asked what it was like to film PLL, given the age gap. Sasha has never had friends her age. All her friends are getting married and having kids, so she’s use to being around people older than her. Everyone on the PLL set was awesome and never treated her like a baby.

Shay Mitchell was 21 years old when they first started filming Pretty Little Liars, so it was awkward for Shay to film the library kiss scene with 13-year-old Sasha. Shay felt like a cougar.

When asked if Sasha or Shay is the bigger Emison shipper, they chose someone else. They said PLL showrunner Marlene King loves writing Emison scenes.

Sasha’s favorite PLL episode to film was the black and white episode ("Shadow Play", season 4) because it was a unique episode. Everything, from costumes to set design, was authentic. They even used the same chandelier that was used in Audrey Hepburn’s movie My Fair Lady.

Shay Mitchell’s favorite PLL scene to film was the first Emily and Aria (Lucy Hale) scene from the pilot episode.

The girls were asked their opinions on Emily's former girlfriend, Paige McCullers. Shay loves Paige’s character and she loves working with actress Lindsey Shaw.

Sasha loves playing bitchy Ali, but she also likes playing sweet Ali.

Keegan Allen (Toby) remembers a scene with “bitchy Alison” on his first day filming PLL. Keegan and Sasha’s first scene together was the one where Alison was screaming at Toby about the Jenna thing. Keegan later confessed that he was so afraid of Sasha that day.

They also chose their favorite Emison quotes. Shay’s favorite is when Emily and Alison were talking about visiting Paris and seeing the Eiffel Tower (PLL episode 3x18 “Dead to Me”). Emily asked Alison “How long are we going away for?” and Alison answered “How about forever?”

Shay and Sasha were asked about funny Emison bloopers. They said makeout scenes are so technical. The crew will give Shay specific instructions, like telling her to touch Sasha’s hair.

Shay loves pizza, so their last question was about favorite pizza toppings. Shay loves every topping. Sasha loves cheese, basil, pesto and lots of garlic.
