There are so many fan theories speculating the identity of “A” on Pretty Little Liars. Some popular fan theories have been Maya, the parents of the Liars and even Aria herself. However, it seems like most of those popular theories are wrong.
PLL showrunner Marlene King told ET that she has only seen one PLL fan have the correct theory, which means that the most popular fan theories are wrong. "It's only been one time in the history of the show. Both my assistant and I saw it online — I won't even say where — but there was someone who had it completely right, and I think I saved it. If I have it, and once that revelation is revealed, I will call that person. It was shockingly correct."
For those of us who have no idea who “A” is, we will get more clues by the end of season 5. Marlene said fans “will have a lot more information to base those theories on by the end of 5B”.
Some of the actors know the identity of “A”, as well. "Troian and Keegan know. We were very late on set one night and I told them. And maybe Ashley knows now too."
