Janel Parrish’s Emotional Rumba “Absolutely Breathtaking” on DWTS Week 4

Last night, Janel Parrish and her dancing partner Val danced the rumba to Whitney Houston’s song “How Will I Know”, performed by Sam Smith.  The week’s theme was “most memorable year”.  For Janel, that year was 2002 when she moved from Hawaii to Los Angeles.

When Janel was six, she worked with her first vocal coach and mentor, B.J.  B.J. was like a second grandmother to her.  Her love inspired Janel to move to LA and pursue her dreams.  The year Janel moved, she found out B.J. had breast cancer.  Janel planned to go back to see her, but B.J. passed away before she could.  Crying, Janel said the biggest regret she had was that she didn’t get to say goodbye to her.  Janel wanted to perform the rumba from her heart for B.J.

The judges were impressed by Janel’s dancing.  Bruno thought Janel looked “like an exotic angel”.  Carrie Ann said the rumba is one of the most difficult dances to perform and Janel’s performance was “absolutely breathtaking”.

With judge Len still absent, viewers got to be the fourth judge.  All the judges, including the viewers, gave Janel 9s.  That gave Team Janelskiy a total score of 36, leaving them in fourth place among the ten teams.

Janel has really been rocking these dances.  Can’t wait to see what she does next!
