Sasha Pieterse Gets Lowest Score of Night for Jazz on DWTS

Sasha Pieterse and Gleb Savchenko danced a light and fluffy Jazz dance to “I Can’t Help Myself (Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch)” by Four Tops on Dancing with the Stars Week 3. It was a cute routine, but it didn't get top scores from the DWTS judges. (Remember to vote for Sasha so she won't be eliminated from DWTS!) Sasha Pieterse had some Pretty Little Liars support in the audience, though. Brant Daugherty, Noel Kahn on PLL, was in the audience cheering Sasha Pieterse on.

PLL Cast Tweet Support for Sasha Pieterse in Week One of 'Dancing with the Stars'

Sasha Pieterse made her dancing debut on season 25 of Dancing with the Stars and her Pretty Little Liars castmates showed their support on social media. (Read how excited the PLL cast was when they heard Sasha Pieterse was going to be on DWTS). Shay Mitchell and Brant Daugherty tweeted support for Sasha before she danced a sexy Cha Cha (watch Sasha hit the dance floor here). Brant even has plans to attend the show and cheer Sasha on from the audience, just like he did when Janel Parrish competed on DWTS.

PLL Cast Reunion in Germany for RevelAtions Convention

Pretty Little Liars filming is over, but the cast is still hanging out with each other. PLL actors Lucy Hale (Aria), Ian Harding (Ezra), Tyler Blackburn (Caleb), Holly Marie Combs (Aria’s mom Ella), Brant Daugherty (Noel) and Huw Collins (Dr. Elliot Rollins/Archer Dunhill) all attended the RevelAtions convention in Germany. Keegan Allen & Huw Collins do the Mannequin Challenge (PLL Cast at ACon in Brussels, Belgium)

PLL actors Keegan Allen (Toby), Brant Daugherty (Noel), Tammin Sursok (Jenna), Tyler Blackburn (Caleb) and Huw James Collins (Dr. Elliott Rollins aka Archer Dunhill) attended the ACon fan convention in Brussels, Belgium. ACon took place on December 18th & 19th 2016. Vanessa Ray (Charlotte) was supposed to attend, but was unable due to work commitments. Instead, Huw Collins came to ACon in her place. The PLL cast had fun exploring Brussels. They even did the Mannequin Challenge.

Brant Daugherty: Noel Kahn a Misunderstood Villain

Actor Brant Daugherty, who plays Noel Kahn on PLL, had some interesting thoughts on his character. He thinks of Noel as a misunderstood villain. If he looked at the situation from Noel’s perspective, then he could see how Noel felt like the Liars were the ones who antagonized him. He brings up some good points about how the Liars kept accusing him of things he didn’t do. He also describes how they filmed the scene where his decapitated head rolled down the stairs. (In another interview, Brant Daugherty hints at what Noel's been through during the five year time jump and talked about Noel's ties with Charlotte.)

Brant Daugherty explained that they used his actual head for the decapitated head scene. It wasn’t a prosthetic head. “We wanted it to bounce down the steps, so they CGI-ed my body out but they had to have my head on a step and I had to bounce. It was very, very technically tricky and we had to do it about a hundred billion times to get it right. So I had to bounce my own head off the step, and then land, and then settle into its final resting position. It was one of the more bizarre days of my life” Brant said. It was so weird that the cast couldn’t stop laughing while filming. “We were all laughing between takes. We were like, what are we even doing right now?” Brant told Vulture.

PLL Actor Brant Daugherty Talks Noel’s Backstory & Ties with Charlotte

Noel Kahn’s death was possibly the most gruesome death in the history of Pretty Little Liars. After the PLL season 7 summer finale, actor Brant Daugherty talked about his character’s backstory. He also hinted at a deep connection Noel has with Charlotte and suggested that PLL fans re-watch the season 5 premiere “EscApe from New York” for clues.

Noel Kahn was gruesomely decapitated by falling on his own axe in “The DArkest Knight”. It was a bloody death, but actor Brant Daugherty was happy to find out his character would die after being brought back for a short arc. “I was overjoyed, which I don’t think is the normal reaction? But I had grown up with Noel, played this character for seven years, and to see him get a conclusion I think suits him very well was a good moment for me,” Brant told Zap2it.

Janel Parrish Initially Auditioned for Spencer Hastings on PLL

Janel Parrish is the perfect Mona Vanderwaal on Pretty Little Liars, so it's hard to imagine her as any other character.  However, Janel spilled to SheKnows that she originally auditioned for the part of Spencer Hastings.  However, she loves that she was cast as Mona.  She loves nerdy Mona more than fashionable Mona.

Janel also says that Brant Daugherty (Noel on PLL) auditioned for the part of Ezra and Sasha Pieterse (Alison on PLL) was originally up for the part of Hanna.

Janel would love if “A” was a parent, like Aria’s dad Byron Montgomery.

Lucy Hale Denies a PLL Janel Parrish Feud

Rumors have been swirling that there is a feud brewing on the set of Pretty Little Liars between Janel Parrish (Mona on PLL) and the other girls and that the PLL cast didn't support Janel’s DWTS opportunity, but Lucy Hale (Aria on PLL) has been quick to deny those rumors.

Looking back, there has been a lot of public support for Janel from the PLL cast and crew.  Lucy has tweeted her support for Janel (when it was announced that Janel would be on DWTS and before the finals), Ashley Benson encouraged fans to vote for Janel on DWTS, Shay Mitchell has mentioned that it was sad Mona died but she can watch Janel on DWTS and PLL showrunner Marlene King, Brendan Robinson (Lucas on PLL) and Brant Daugherty (Noel on PLL) all came to DWTS to cheer Janel on from the audience.

Lucy Hale was also quick to shoot down rumors of another PLL feud previously, stating of her PLL cast mates “I love those three girls with my whole heart.  If you’re going to spread rumors, at least say one of us is pregnant.  Don’t say that we hate one another”.

It’s good to hear Lucy Hale deny the feud rumors, since the PLL family has been rooting for Janel Parrish on Dancing With the Stars throughout the whole season.

Janel Parrish’s Paso Doble and Argentine Tango on DWTS

Janel Parrish and DWTS partner Val Chmerkovskiy impressed the judges last night when they danced the paso doble and Argentine tango to Calvin Harris’s song “Blame”.

Janel Parrish danced a perfect paso doble.  Carrie Ann thought the dance was so good that she wanted more.  Len said it was “just enough of everything to keep me satisfied”.  He loved Janel’s technique and performance.  Julianne felt like Janel and Val were one and that Janel is “in it to win it”.  Bruno thought it was “fierce, bold, powerful like an untamed force of nature”.  He said Janel set the stage on fire.

All the judges gave Janel 10s, giving their dance a perfect score of 40.

Janel also danced the Argentine tango in the unplugged round.  Carrie Ann thought Janel is a dynamic performer, but her lift was ungraceful.  Len thought it was “full of intensity, full of passion”.  He agreed with Carrie Ann’s criticism, but said Janel is incredible dancer.  Bruno loved the lifts, which he thought were expressive.

Carrie Ann and Len gave 9s, while Julianne and Bruno gave 10s.  Their total score for the Argentine tango was 38 out of 40.

On the show, Janel and her family talked about relocating from Hawaii to Los Angeles and Janel’s rise to fame from playing Cosette in Les Miserable to being cast as Mona on Pretty Little Liars. 

Janel’s Pretty Little Liars co-star Brant Daugherty said “There’s nobody who deserves success more than Janel. She’s so gracious and talented of course, but really she’s just such a hard worker”.

So awesome to see Janel nailing all the dances on DWTS.  Don’t forget to vote for Team Janelskiy and watch next week’s DWTS when hopefully Janel will win the Mirror Ball trophy!

Janel Parrish Dances to ‘Pretty Little Liars’ Theme Song on DWTS

The PLL cast was in the audience last night as Janel Parrish danced the Viennese waltz to the Pretty Little Liars theme song “Secrets”.

Brant Daugherty (Noel on PLL), Brendan Robinson (Lucas on PLL), and Marlene King (PLL showrunner) all were in the audience to cheer Janel on.

The judges want Janel to improve her movements.  Judges Julianne, Carrie Anne and Bruno gave her a score of 8, but Len gave her a 7.  With a total score of 31, that put Janel and Val in fourth out of the seven teams.

There was also a Halloween-themed team dance last night.  Janel and Val were on Team Itsy Bitsy, along with Lea Thompson (Kathryn Kennish on ABC Family’s Switched at Birth), Artem Chigvintsev, Bethany Mota, Derek Hough, Michael Waltrip and Emma Slater.

Team Itsy Bitsy danced to Iggy Azalea’s song “Black Widow”.

Janel Parrish has been working hard rehearsing for “Dancing With the Stars” and her friend Brant Daugherty (Noel on PLL) stopped by to show his support.

Janel captioned the photo “Loved having @brantdaugherty come visit me at rehearsal today!  You give me so much love and confidence.  Love you Branty!  Hope to follow in your footsteps”.

Brant posted the same photo and captioned it “Look who I found at the #DWTS rehearsal studio today!  I can’t wait to see you dance next week @janelparrish”.

DWTS rehearsals are nothing new to Brant, who competed on "Dancing With the Stars" in season 17.  He made it to seventh place with his partner Peta Murgatroyd.

Janel Parrish Joins “Dancing With the Stars”

It’s official, Janel Parrish will be dancing in season 19 of ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars”.  Janel’s dancing partner will be pro dancer Val Chmerkovskiy.

The “Pretty Little Liars” family has been supportive of Janel’s dancing news.

With Mona Vanderwaal dead on PLL, at least we can get our Janel fix by watching her dance moves on “Dancing With the Stars”.  The first episode will air on September 15.  Good luck Janel!

Brant Daugherty Discusses his PLL Character Noel

Brant Daugherty, who plays Noel on Pretty Little Liars, gave an interview about his character and answered some burning questions.

What’s Noel’s involvement in Alison’s disappearance?  Brant thinks that Noel knows everything that’s happening in Rosewood.  He doesn’t know for sure if he can say if Noel had anything to do with Ali’s disappearance, but Noel knows what’s going on.

Who does Noel have the most unresolved issues with?  Brant points out that Ezra and Noel have had a rivalry since season one of Pretty Little Liars.  When Noel and Aria were dating and Noel found out that Aria was with her teacher, Noel went after Ezra rather than Aria.

Brant would love more Noel and Aria interaction.  He mentions that there was a deleted scene in season two where Noel called Aria out for everything that happened.  He says we saw a little bit in “The Kahn Game” when Noel asks Aria “Ever had sex with your teacher?”

Remember that scene?  Spencer and Aria had a lot of unanswered questions, so Noel and Aria played a truth game.  They had to answer each other’s questions truthfully for a certain amount of time.  You can watch it below:

 

What can Brant tease about Noel and Mona’s relationship?  Brant thinks that Noel would have had to know something about Mona being “A”, since they were going out for a while.
 

Seems like so long ago that Noel and Aria dated.  Can’t wait to see Noel back in action for season five of Pretty Little Liars!
