"A few months ago our neighbor was kind enough to bring over Hatch Green Chili Mac and Cheese and all he asked for in return was for us to give him his opinion of the recipe. What I should have done is played dumb and said something like “I wish I could but I lost the Mac and cheese. Please send more.” But I was so dumbfounded by how yummy it was I just said “IT SO GOOOOOOOD”. Fortunately said neighbor wrote down that recipe and a whole BOOK of delicious others so that I can now make that Mac and cheese whenever I want. And so can you! So if you wanna treat yourself. Or pass along the kindness to your neighbors. GET @foodbetweenfriends #yummy #ITSOGOOD," Troian shared.

Although Troian Bellisario didn't directly name Jesse Tyler Ferguson as her mysterious and generous neighbor, it seems pretty clear that actor Jesse Tyler Ferguson was the one who brought over the Hatch Green Chili Mac and Cheese for Troian to try! Troian was lucky enough to try the dish before the cookbook was released and she gave it her enthusiastic approval!

More details on Food Between Friends: A Cookbook:

"Best friends Jesse Tyler Ferguson, star of Modern Family, and recipe developer Julie Tanous pay homage to their hometowns as they whip up modern California food with Southern and Southwestern spins in their debut cookbook.

Modern Family star Jesse Tyler Ferguson and chef Julie Tanous love to cook together. They love it so much that they founded a blog, and now put all their favorite recipes into a cookbook for you to dig into with the people you love.

In Food Between Friends, they cook up delightful food, spiced with fun stories pulled right from their platonic marriage.

Drawing inspiration from the regional foods of the South and Southwest they grew up with, Jesse and Julie put smart twists on childhood favorites, such as Hatch Green Chile Mac and Cheese, Grilled Chicken with Alabama White BBQ Sauce, and Little Grits Soufflés.

So come join Jesse and Julie in the kitchen. This book feels just like cooking with a friend—because that’s exactly what it is."

Some other recipes in the cookbook include: Blue cornmeal pancakes with blueberry butter, Little grits souffles, Deep-dish chorizo quiche, Sweet & sticky orange cardamom rolls, Green shakshuka, Baklava french toast with orange-honey syrup, Apple-cheddar drop biscuits, Buckwheat waffles with poppy seed lemon curd, oatmeal cream pie muffins, Christmas chilaquiles, Potato-Parsnip hash-kes with cool garlicky sour cream. And those are just a few of the brunch recipes!
