Rumors have been swirling that Ashley Benson and Cara Delevingne were dating ever since photos of the two kissing in London surfaced back in August 2018. Adorably, Cara's nickname for Ashley Benson is "Sparkles". However, the two never officially acknowledged those rumors.
Ashley Benson and Cara Delevingne both attended The Trevor Project's TrevorLIVE Gala in New York City on Monday. Cara Delevingne received the Trevor Project Hero Award. During her acceptance speech, Cara Delevingne gave a special shoutout to her girlfriend of one year Ashley Benson.
"I also have another very special woman in this room to thank and you know who you are. She's one of the people who helped me love myself when I needed it most and I really needed it. She showed me what real love is and how to accept it, which is a lot harder than I thought," Cara said.
Ashley Benson posted a video of Cara's acceptance speech on Instagram. Ashley captioned the video "Love you @caradelevingne. Proud of you."
A few days prior, Cara Delevingne shared a video of herself and Ashley Benson kissing in their movie Her Smell. Cara shared the video in honor of Pride Month. "#PRIDE," Cara captioned the video. She also added the heart eyes emoji to her caption.
At the TrevorLIVE Gala event, Cara Delevingne told E! News why she decided to go public with her relationship. "I don't know, because it is Pride, it's been 50 years since Stonewall happened and I don't know. It's been just about our one-year anniversary, so, why not?" she said.
