PLL Officially Cancelled: No Season 8
Sad news, PLL fans. Pretty Little Liars has been officially cancelled by Freeform. Season 7 will be the last for PLL and unfortunately we won’t get an eighth season. The PLL cast posted a video sharing the news that PLL is ending. The cast also shared their feelings about the cancellation on social media.

Troian Bellisario & Shay Mitchell on the Possibility of 8th Season of PLL
At the Freeform upfront in New York (see photos of PLL cast on the red carpet), actresses Shay Mitchell and Troain Bellisario were asked if they would return for an eighth season of PLL. They both had totally different answers to that question.
When asked if she would return for an eighth season of PLL, Shay Mitchell (Emily) said “Absolutely. Yes, of course”.

Will There be a PLL Season 8 Without Lucy Hale?
As Pretty Little Liars season 7 inches closer, rumors have been circulating about the end of PLL. Will there be a season 8 of PLL? PLL showrunner Marlene King has left the door open for future seasons, but it seems like the cast is ready to move on. Lucy Hale previously said that season 7 would be the last for the show. In a new interview, Lucy Hale clarified those statements. Lucy isn’t definitely saying that PLL will end after season 7, but she is saying the original cast may be leaving the show.
“We really had a great show for a really long time and we’ve kept people’s interest, and I’ve always said that I want the show to end when people still really care and not when people are begging for it to get off the air. We flash-forwarded a little bit, and they’re in a good spot to finally get that peace and find out who “A” is. I’ve said that I even want it to end really darkly. But backtracking to what you said before, this may not be the end. With the complete cast this will be the last year. So in a way, it is ending because not everyone will be there. But it’ll be interesting to see what happens,” Lucy told Vulture.

Possible Season 8 for PLL?
Will there be a season 8 of Pretty Little Liars? It hasn’t been officially decided yet, but there may be some hope for all the PLL fans hoping that Pretty Little Liars never ends.
William M. DeBiasio, set decorator for PLL, sent out a few tweets regarding the possibility of a season 8 of PLL. When asked by a fan about the possibility, William tweeted back “We are hopeful! Please keep watching & it may happen!”
He later tweeted “It's just a possibility, but possibility is always better than not!”
He sent out a final clarifying tweet that said “Nothing to elaborate on-just a possibility! For that the #PLL crew is eternally grateful!”
Does the PLL cast want to do season 8 of PLL? Lucy Hale has previously said “seven seasons will definitely end the show”. And Troian Bellisario told Buzzfeed “This is the beginning of the end. But the best part about these last two years is that, because it’s the beginning of the end, we can actually start telling the story I think we’ve been waiting to tell for a long time. It’s exciting because it feels like we can kick into a different gear instead of spinning wheels and biding our time.”
PLL showrunner Marlene King also talked to BuzzFeed about the end of PLL and said “It’s going so fast. Like, those next 30 are going to be gone so fast, and then we’ll have that final, final big ending, and it’s going to be extremely emotional.”
However, back in February Marlene was asked by a fan on Twitter if there would be a season 8 of PLL. Marlene responded “you never know. But it won't be ‘this story.’”
