Shay Mitchell's Ultimate Gift Wrapping Challenge

Pretty Little Liars actress Shay Mitchell is in the holiday spirit, but she doesn’t know how to wrap gifts. Her gift wrapping style is to recycle by sometimes using newspaper to wrap her presents. Her friend hair stylist Chad Wood is the complete opposite. He is the best gift wrapper AND best giver. So they two friends were the perfect people to participate in a gift wrapping challenge.

Here's how Shay Mitchell's Gift Wrapping Challenge works. Both Shay Mitchell and Chad Wood were surprised by oddly shaped gifts that they had to wrap in 3 minutes. Who is the best gift wrapper?

Round 1

Round 1 was a simple rectangular box. 

Shay didn't cut enough brown wrapping paper initially, so she didn’t get the back completely covered.

She finished off by taping a candy cane to the top of the package.

Chad used red wrapping paper. He finished the with a big red bow.

 

Round 1 goes to Chad!

Round 2

Round 2 was a bit more tricky. They were given a basketball to wrap.

Shay started off frantic, but ended up possibly winning this round? At least the gift is completely concealed! And she wrapped it with a red bow. And added a candy cane, of course!

Chad skipped the wrapping paper and just wrapped the basketball with a red ribbon.

Shay said Chad's wrapping doesn't make the present a surprise. Chad said the ribbon wrapping is the equivalent of a girl wearing a thong. You know what you are getting, but it adds a little je ne sais quoi.

 

Round 2 goes to Shay!

Round 3

Round 3 was to wrap a Weekender bag.

Shay stole Chad's trick. She skipped the wrapping paper and tied a green and red bow on it.

Chad wrapped his weekender bag in red wrapping paper and tied it with brown twine.

 

Who wins Round 3? At least Chad's was wrapped!

Round 4

Round 4 was stuffed animals!

Chad had to wrap a cute pink unicorn. Shay had to wrap a adorable brown dog stuffed animal. Chad complained that his unicorn was much harder to wrap.

Both Shay and Chad used the same technique. They wrapped them like the logs you buy to start fires.

They both used ribbons at both ends to seal the ends shut. Of course, Shay Mitchell added candy canes to the ends of her package.

 

Round 4 is a tie!

Round 5

Round 5 was a bit dangerous. They each had to wrap a mini cactus!

Shay pointed out that a cactus is the perfect Christmas present for someone you don't like.

 

Shay wrapped hers like a Christmas tree! She tied the top with a gold ribbon.

Chad was certain Shay cheated by looking up gift wrapping techniques beforehand. "You're not that ingenious. I swear to God, I know you're not that ingenious!"

Chad struggled with this round, especially after getting jabbed by a cactus spine.

 

Round 5 goes to Shay! (Even if she cheated!)

Round 6

Round 6 was how to wrap an "inappropriate gift"

They blurred the gift, so we couldn't get a good look at the wrapping job. Looks like they both used ribbons instead of wrapping paper.

So all you need to gift wrap like Shay is wrapping paper, ribbons and lots of candy canes!
